We offer tailored post launch support packages for all projects which we work on. They are always altered to match the level of project and foreseen level of support which will be needed.

These packages generally support bug fixes, updates and feature additions but there are instances where we include training and auditing as part of a post launch package.

### Managed Web Presence

Post launch support is included in the monthly fee for our managed web presence package. The support includes bug fixes and reasonable content updates as a standard. Features can be added at a discounted rate as part of the package.

How does your company leverage AI internally?

Generally speaking we use AI to complete a lot of the mundane tasks which are associated with software development and to help up catch bugs before work is reviewed by a human. Some of the areas in which we have experienced productivity gains from AI are:

- Catching common mistakes which crop up from human error before we start code reviews. By allowing an AI agent to have a first pass check we can save our code reviewer's time and allow the dev working on the project to correct their mistakes faster.

- Scaffolding new projects to get the first 70% out of the way. When developers start a new project there is always a solid chunk of time which is spent setting up their tooling and the structure of said project. With AI we can skip this mundane work and allow our developers to jump straight into applying their expertise and coding the more challenging parts of the project at hand.

- Completing small tickets. We have created our own proprietary AI agent which sits within our project management platform, Linear. When we feel we have an issue which is within its capabilities we assign the ticket to the agent and then assess the code. In doing so we can save our developer's time for more complex work.

- Solution ideation. Sometimes we find that it is a great idea to use AI to 'idiot check' a possible solution to a problem before we start working on it. In doing this we have found that we are able to identify better methods to achieve our goals due to the sheer wealth of information which AI has been trained on.

- Ticket writing. One of the biggest pain point of developers and project managers is ticketing. Developers want detailed tickets with technical specifications and project managers want to just be able to get a project started. Our proprietary AI agent is used regularly to rewrite tickets in order to make them more technically specific. This allows our project managers to write in natural language while providing our developers with highly technical briefs.

How does your pricing work?

We are not another agency that expects you jump on a bunch of calls and discovery sessions before we tell you our prices. That is, in our opinion, unfair and a dark pattern.

Generally speaking pricing depends on the service and the number of engineers/designers we have working on a given project. We have broken down our pricing below.

### Custom Development

For Custom Development and Refactoring, we typically work on a project-based fee or retainer which roughly works out to **£700 per staff member, per day**.

### Managed Web Presence

For our Managed Web Presence service, we offer a simple, one time, **build fee of £300** followed by a fixed **monthly subscription of £40 per month** that covers hosting, maintenance, and content updates (within reason).

### General Hosting

For managed hosting of a website on our UK based servers (with full cPanel access and email/DNS) we charge **£40 per domain, per month**.

Question 5

Is your web scraping and data extraction legal/ethical?

Accepted Answer

Yes, everything we do is 100% legal and above board. We strictly adhere to ethical scraping guidelines and only extract publicly available data.

We do our utmost to ensure that our scrapers respect limits set by data owners and will not result in any angry notices from them.

### What if I need data which is not publicly available?

If this is the case we will advise you of the risks which are involved and advise you as best we can within the restrictions of the local law.

Generally speaking, one of the biggest risks you will face is that of an uphill battle in trying to keep your scraper online. Scrapers which do not follow data owner guidelines tend to break often and require a lot of expensive maintenance in order to stay afloat.

Who owns the code you write?

Accepted Answer

Simply put, you do! Generally speaking, when you hire us to complete a project the resulting code is 100% yours to do what you like with. There are some parts which are our own proprietary software which are listed below.

### Managed Web Presence

While you will 100% own the resulting HTML, CSS and Typescript/Javascript which we create for your website, you will not own the deployment scripts and infrastructure which enables the self updating functionality.

This is simply because the self updating part of the package is our internal software which is developed as part of a subscription proposition.

Think of it like this: When you buy a car you own the vehicle itself but you do not own the roads on which you drive it.

### Custom Software Development

When we develop custom software for you, you will own the resulting code. However, the tools and infrastructure which we use to deploy and create the code will remain ours.

This is simply because our tools and infrastructure are part of our core proposition and are not publicly available.

*When we deliver code we do so in a way which allows us to pickup and alter the code easily with our own tools. While we are happy for our clients to own the code we deliver, altering the code yourself may end up making it harder for us to fix any bugs which you may introduce*

What is included in the 'Managed Web Presence' service?

This is a 'one-and-done' service. It includes the design of a professional one-page website, secure hosting on our servers, bug fixes, and minor content changes. You pay one monthly fee, and we handle everything technical.

### The Website

The website we make for you will have a custom design that is suited to your brand and company. It will be created using our bespoke tooling which was created specifically for this proposition

#### SEO/AI Optimisation

When we create the website we will do so in a way which is considered SEO friendly and will help your business to appear in Google search results and AI overviews.

#### Self Updating

The self updating functionality we implement will use your Google Business profile as the 'source of truth'. It will check your Google Business listing daily for changes to your business' address, contact details and open hours as a standard

#### Content Updates

As part of your monthly subscription we will complete up to 4 minor content updates on your behalf each month. In order to help you gauge what we mean by minor see the following

##### Minor changes (included in your subscription)

- A change of some text on your website
- A change of an image/asset on your website
- A change to a colour in your overall theme

##### Larger changes (not included in your subscription)

- Adding a new page to your website
- Restyling an entire page on your website
- Creating new components for your website

### Adding More Pages

We are more than happy to add and create more pages for your website, obviously this is something which will take us above the standard £300 initial setup/build fee. Generally speaking you can expect a fee of around £150 per additional page.

Pages can be added to your website at any time but the best time is when we do the initial build as it will lower the cost due to the fact that we can build everything at once.

### Identify logic flaws and hallucinations

One of the biggest challenges for AI models is retaining attention and context as their responses grow in size. Humans are pretty good at keeping large segments of fragmented data in the forefront of their mind but AI/LLMs still find this aspect of intelligence to be difficult.

A lot of the time people do not actually need something like a fully bespoke solution and would benefit from the speed and security offered by one of the main players

### When to Use Shopify/Wordpress/A Content Management System

- You are selling a large catalog of items online through your website and regularly need to update the product list, need to track your inventory or need to manage a lot of data related to your customers

- You are setting up a website which seeks to publish a lot of content which is changing regularly and needs user access levels, preview before publish functionality and a level of dynamism/flexibility which cannot be accommodated with a normal website

- You need to create some internal tooling which will allow members of your team to stay up to date with regularly changing information and provides different levels of access

### When to use Bespoke Software Development

- You need to create a new tool which will move data from A to B and alter it in the process

- You wish to create some internal tooling which does not exist publicly and will speed up the performance of your team members

- You need to create a fine-tuned AI model which will serve a specific purpose within your company

What do you mean by 'human lead'?

The current inception of AI coding tools has lead to a a number of businesses atrophying human staff in favour of AI agents in order to cut costs. We do not believe this is the right approach to business nor is it a sustainable business model.

We sincerely believe that AI is definitely useful and certainly opens the doors of possibility. However, we believe it is most useful when it is used by people who have a great level of domain specific knowledge. By having an experienced human at the steering wheel of such a powerful tool we believe that their trajectory and progress will be enhance to make better products, and happier people.

A fitting analogy would be that of a washing machine: let's say you give someone a washing machine and they do not know how to use it correctly: Sure, your clothes *might* get cleaned but they also *might* end up being shrunk, having colour dying them from mixing whites with darks and they might be shredded from putting delicates on an aggressive spin mode. Now, give that same washing machine to someone who knows how to use it and understands the nuances of laundry, and you will end up with clean clothes that haven't been shrunk or destroyed by colour run and aggressive wash cycles.

All of this is to say that we like to have humans leading projects and ensure our engineers are responsible for the code they generate. Whether an app was written by an AI or a human it is the human who is responsible for the code.

What is your typical project timeline?

Generally speaking this is one of them "how long is a piece of string" questions. There are rarely situations where we can just give a blanket answer prior to getting information about a given project. That being said, we have added some rough estimates of regular projects below:

### Managed Web Presence One-Pager

This is one offering we have tailored to getting shipped fast. Depending on the complexity of the page and the integrations required we usually ship these projects between 3 - 5 working days.

### Custom E-commerce Build

These projects generally take anything from 6 - 12 weeks depending on a number of contributing factors such as: desired CMS, CRM platforms, custom integrations, theme complexity, platform specific nuances etc.

### AI Integrations

Depending on the scope of the integration and the type of AI model which we need to integrate (is it an off the shelf model or do we need to fine tune something) these integrations can take anything from 2 weeks to 4+ months. The AI landscape is one which moves quickly so something which is time consuming to integrate today may be trivial tomorrow.

### Large Scale Custom Software

This is one area where we really struggle to put a number until we actually know what it is we are to build. There are some instances where we can be done in a week, think a small Wordpress plugin to get data from a CRM platform. There are also instances where the project can take up a good half of the year, think complete human resource management platform creation.

Whatever the case, we work using a 2 week sprint model and will always keep you fully in the loop as to how we are making progress.
